A Warm Hello from Mrs Janet Chua

Dear Parents,

Greetings! I am Mrs Janet Chua, your child’s Math and Co-Form Teacher.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome your daughters back to school. I enjoyed teaching some of the pupils last year and have been impressed with their enthusiasm and positive attitude towards learning. I am confident that we will be able to have a good year of learning.

I will like to foster a better parent-teacher communication
with you, keeping you in the know of your child’s progress in
class through our Class blog: http://olqp5f2013.blogspot.com/

Many years as an educator have taught me that communication between parents and school staff is very important. Please feel free to provide me with feedback/raise any concerns, as a strong partnership will help to stretch the potential of my pupils and to look into their social and emotional development, bringing out the best in them. Please feel free to drop me an email at mrsjchua@yahoo.com on matters pertaining to Math.

I will also appreciate if you can complete the contact form and return it to me by 7 January 2013.

I will share with the class on my expectation of them to work together to enjoy, learn and succeed. There will be rules and routines for them to follow so that everyone helps to create a better learning environment. Pupils are expected to complete the homework and assignments to the best of their abilities. I expect them to be punctual in their work submission and to be neat. The consequences of non-conformity will be discussed and agreed with the class, so please do work hand in hand with me. Good habits formed at young age, it will definitely benefit them in the long run.

I’ll be posting class information and homework on the class blog whenever there is a need. However, the Student's Diary is the first line of communication. I prefer pupils to be responsible of their own learning, to explain to parents what went on in class instead of referring parents to read the blog. The class blog info is mainly to keep you abreast of the homework and for you to 'confirm' any with your child. This is to eradicate any chances of the child (not having done his/her homework) blaming his/her parents.

Looking forward to working closely with you for the good of your child in 2013!

Warmest Regards,
Mrs Janet Chua
