Our awesome 5F girls really impressed the teachers with their positive attitude towards work these 2 weeks! They were so cooperative so attentive so diligent during class though the exams were over! Keep it up girls :)
Today I decided to give them some Chill Out time after going through a paper, after all, "All work and no play makes 5F a dull class". I showed them a video of a performance of a Marching Band (Click on the link to watch), and boy were they impressed :) Promised the girls that I'll leave the link on the blog. We also watched "Matilda" the movie today.
Cheers,
Mrs Janet Chua

It's the Final Countdown :)
Dear Parents,
I understand that it is a busy and perhaps "str@#&ful" (a word that I try to avoid using) period for everyone.
Here are some last-minute revision pointers that I may suggest:
I understand that it is a busy and perhaps "str@#&ful" (a word that I try to avoid using) period for everyone.
Here are some last-minute revision pointers that I may suggest:
- Go through ALL CA1, SA1 and CA2 exam papers as well as practice papers (past year exam papers)
- Do a cross section revision of the process skills by attempting 1 or 2 qn from each practice WS in the Process skills book.
- Read through the Revision Notes Cards. (A Big Thank You to all the wonderful parents who have helped in laminating and putting the cards together :)
Just a reminder for the girls:
1. For Booklet A (MCQ), it is a good habit to do your workings on the paper so that you can refer to them when you are checking your answers.
2. For Booklet B and Paper 2 (Short answer questions), you must write number sentences. Workings alone are not sufficient. Why do you need to write the number sentences? If you do not, I will not be able to award you with method marks if your answers are wrong.
Paper 2
1h 40 minutes
Qn1-6: 20 minutes
Qn 7-10: 20 minutes
Qn 11-18: 60 minutes
4. Messy handwriting
A few things to take note:
1. Time management
Please move on to another question if you are unable to solve a question. Spending too much time on a question will affect the amount of time that you have for word problems.
The maximum amount of time that you should spend on each section (Just a guide) :
Paper 1
Booklet A: 25 minutes
Booklet B: 25 minutes
*At the end of 25 minutes, if you are still not able to complete the questions in Booklet A, you need to move on to Booklet B.
2. Optical Answer Sheet (OAS)
Please take note:
Use only 2B pencils to shade
Do the questions and shade at the same time (Do not complete all the questions before you shade.)
Do not leave any questions blank. Even if you do not know, shade at least 1 of the options.
(Well, at least you have a chance of getting that question correct.)
3. Empty questions
Do not leave any questions blank!
Even if you do not know how to do, write down some number sentences, which you think are correct. You may be awarded another mark or two for your method.
So, please do not give up.
4. Messy handwriting
You may lose some marks if your words and numbers are illegible (which means, I cannot read what you have written).
For example, your ‘o’ looks like ’e’ and your ‘3’ looks like ‘5’.
Is it worth it to lose marks because of your handwriting? Those of you who are usually less tidy in your work, please be more mindful!
Do remember to eat and rest well, Go to bed NO LATER than 10 pm tonight! You'll need the stamina for tomorrow's paper :)
God Bless,
Mrs Janet Chua

Math Matters 11/10
Dear Parents,
The girls have received a set of revision notes prepared by me today. I seek your help in helping them to put the cards in order. You may wish to laminate the cards before you cut them up on to card size :) They have also received the "answer key" for the notes in case they are stuck. I sure hope that these cards will come in useful during their revision for the SA2.
We have also gone through the Semestral Review 2 (AB) today and completed going through the last few questions of SA2 2012. As usual, the solutions for the practice paper have been given to the girls.
Please feel free to contact me via email during this PSLE marking days break should you need any assistance.
